Does YTubeOpen guarantee that YouTube opens?
No. YTubeOpen attempts the fastest reliable handoff to YouTube and always shows a fallback link. Instagram, mobile operating systems, and browser privacy settings can still block or change app-opening behavior.
What links are supported?
The public beta supports YouTube video URLs from youtube.com, www.youtube.com, m.youtube.com, and youtu.be. YTubeOpen is not a generic shortener and does not support arbitrary destinations.
What counts toward the free monthly click limit?
Only canonical human short-link taps count toward the monthly free-tier click limit. Preview crawlers, generic bots, and non-canonical funnel events do not count toward quota.
What do the analytics mean?
Analytics focus on canonical human short-link taps. They do not prove that a viewer watched the video or that the YouTube app successfully opened.
What happens when I delete a link?
Deleting a link marks it as deleted so it is no longer treated as an active link in the dashboard. Historical aggregate analytics may remain for operational and accounting purposes.
What data is collected from viewers?
YTubeOpen records basic routing and analytics data such as timestamp, event type, referrer, user agent, device family, operating system family, country code, and click classification. Creator link and profile click history is retained for analytics; noisy mobile lifecycle diagnostics may be sampled and kept for a shorter operational window.
